Do you know who was the 3rd president of the Federal Republic of Germany Questionmark (sorry for the inconvencience but this keyboard is less than worse). How much did Palin spend for her cloth! (just imagine this exclamation mark is a questionmark).Where is the name "bailout" coming from and what does it mean! Explain the difference between mitosis and meiosis. What is IOM standing for! And how huge is the impact of the financial crisis on developing countries such as Nepal which is one of the poorest countries in the world. When did Switzerland join the UN!.....I can tell you Wikipedia is really great.

Which brings me to the small bookstores here in Thamel. Thamel is the touristic place with shopes and stores and very good salesman but maybe less good products in comparison to the salesmen. :-). In these bookstores are thousands of books in English, German, French, Dutch etc. and my book (Anna Karenina from Tolstoy) was roughly Euro2.5. I get half the price back when I bring it back.

One nice story I have to tell happened yesterday: Ingo and me were sitting in the Pumpernickel Cafe and were drinking a really good lemon tea. An asian guy sat next to us wearing a dust mask (quite often seen here). But the best was when he removed it to smoke a cigarette. Men will never learn.

Today in the morning we met our tour guide and our group. Nice people mainly Britains and Canadians. Together we are 10. Tomorrow morning we will start early to drive to Besi Sahar where we meet our team and spend our first night on the trek. -Silke Weimer, SIONTour, Kathmandu, Nepal
